Related SO number field RORN in P48013 is disabled from 8.12 onwards

Hi,

        The related sales order fields are disabled in P48013 in 9.1. This is a standard net change from 8.12 onwards. In E1, these fields cannot be edited (they are grayed out) on the "Addtl. Details 2" tab by SAR 8284589. There is an enhancement that is being logged (Bug 10968806 : UNABLE TO EDIT RELATED ORDER F - SAR: 8588591) and Oracle is analyzing the impact currently. Has anybody faced any issue with this net change and any suggestions on successful workaround would helpful.
