WIP functionality only available with Inventory/Project Manufacturing?
This is a very basic question but I need to confirm if the WIP functionality in Projects only works if you're integrating with Oracle Inventory and using Project Manufacturing.
I'm working on a PJC/PJB implementation and the current state is for all costs on a fixed price/milestone billing project to get booked to a balance sheet account, and then moved to a P&L account when revenue is recognized. The users refer to these balances as WIP/Inventory, and want to do something similar in R12. I don't think this is a good approach, and I've designed something that will work, it's just a matter of training and getting the users to look at things in a different way.
