Can I apply Material status control on item Level

I need to place a hold on item

I have created a material status with disallow transaction for a miscellaneous receipt

assign this material status to the item level

try to perform miscellaneous receipt against this item

I am able to do that

I am expecting that I will not be able to do that

your kind help

1 - it is working at lot and sub inventory level

2 - the material status at the organization parameter is null
