What is the best practice for supporting/administering SAP oracle databases

Hi everybody,

Now we are studying to transition the DBA activities from SAP basis team to the DBA team, because we have some lack of SAP basis team of qulifications to handling database like oracle database. As you know they are supporting other parts as well as database part.

Could you please give me your input in this regards. Is there any one have any experience in that. Is it recommended?

Please note that to handle and support SAP databases there are some special trainings required to support the Oracle databases through the SAP tools.
