SCAN name during installation

Hi All, In 11gR2 there is requirement to have SCAN defined to 3 IPs in round robin fashion. When we do the install Oracle ask for "Cluster Name" and "Scan Name". When we enter cluster name it adds the word -scan after the cluster name. e.g. cluster name -> mycluster, scan name -.> mycluster-scan. My question is do we have to have the scan name predefined and pointing to 3 different IPs and we use the same scan name in the "scan name" field ?
