Use of Install Base for 3rd party products
Hi community. We are a software and hardware manufacturing company in the test and measurement segment. We use Oracle Release 12 to support our primary business functions (Quoting, Order Management, Manufacturing, Installed Base, Financials). I was wondering if anyone has used Installed Base in Release 12 to store 3rd party products. Basically our business case is the following:
We sell products to one of our customer (OEM), who then leverages these products as part of a System they sell onward to their customers.
This OEM customer purchases specialized calibration services from us on those systems. So the OEM customer expects us to provide calibration services to their customers. Sometimes we bring those systems in house or we go at the customer site. We would like to track those systems we provide service for, in our IB and also be able to create Service Orders, generate service contracts etc in R12.
