How to use Oracle Tax Simulator?

Can you please guide me on how to use Tax Simulator ?? I entered the fields in the header section and line section and no tax seems to be calculated. If I use the same values in the Receivable or payable application taxes are calculated correctly.. so I am not sure if I am using Tax simulator correctly... please help
