Assign a formula to a variable in report

Hi, I am doing a report, and have a field that use a huge CASE condition. then I need to refer to this field to do another huge CASE condition

from another field. is there anyway to assign this field's CASE condition to a variable so I don't have to drag the huge CASE statement

to another field  ?  it could get a bit long otherwise.

please help ?
