Is it possible to create virtual disks as sparse files?

Ops Center seems to only create these as non-sparse files which is time consuming.

It does this even with x86 guests even though the jobs are transferred to the OVM Manager

which is able to create sparse files.

Update: OPs Center creates sparse files via Library-Disks-Create Disk.

In case of Library-Disks-Clone Disk there's even a dropdown list allowing to select between

Sparse, Non-sparse and thin clone. That said, it only does non-sparse when creating guests with a plan.
