Can you add custom lists to a Homepage layout?

If you can't add lists; how do you add custom reports to the available sections for changing the layout of all homepages.  I want to add a custom list to my Opportunity Homepage Layout.  I went through the steps in "Enabling Custom Reports in My Homepage" and I do not see my custom report listed in available section.
