COGS for KIT Items

Hello,

I am tying to see if KIT Item from OM generate Revenue and COGS Recognition events. Currently I am seeing that the components of that KIT have the COGS Recognition while KIT Item has the Invoice.

Is this a normal behavior? If some one can help to see a document on KIT and COGS Recognition process, it will be helpful.
