Inventory Organization Valuation Accounts - Need to Change

I know from my searching that we are not the only company needing to change the valuation accounts that are specified on the Inventory Organization (IO) Costing Information tab. There have been plenty of transactions history here, on hand quantities exist, etc in the existing IOs. Due to the restriction to changing accounts on the IO's, the vanilla response is to create new IOs and sunset the old ones. That is a nightmare when your organization is in midstream of conducting business. Also, we have seen 'Doc ID 1469836.1 - Inventory Org Valuation Accounts' but that approach does not fully deal with changing the accounts at the IO - it skirts the changing of accounts at IO by doing it at the sub-inventory level which leaves room for ongoing error.
