Should an application patch be applied on both nodes when load balancing is applied?

Hi Team,

Need a confirmation on 12.1.3 application

We have an instance where "Load Balancer / Load Balancing" (LB) is applied on EBS application. Not sure if my understanding is correct on LB, but it seems that it is used to "shift" work between nodes under specific circumstance.

My question is: if i have an application patch that needs to be applied, do i need to apply the same patch twice with application on each node?
