Sequence # Filed Importance For Product Relationships

Dear Andi/Experts,

Can some one explain the Sequence# Filed importance at relationship level .

Is there any functionolity based on this Filed ? If yes, please provide the example for how to use.

Though i am working on Product configrurator from past 5 years....i never used this field for any requiremnt and i dont know the importance of this field ....:-)...

I have not found the details in Prodcut Document also.

when i searched in supprot web i saw one article which is related to one of bug...Oracel Suggested that to better to maintain this field for best practice ...But is there any reason to maintain? What happens if i dont maintain?
