For the NIH Process Guidline for Awards

For the new NIH Process Guideline for Awards, how is everyone preparing for the 10/1/2004 change in Award ID?  We have multiple Project IDs under an award (where each Project ID represents a Year in that Award).  So future years of an Award will ne under a new Award (effective 10/1/2014).  So we need an efficient way to unlink previous project years set-up under a current Award, and then to create a new Award to link these future years (or Projects) to.  Also does anyone know a way to create an award without a project?  The projects already exist so we want to just create an award and move those existing projects under the new Award.  Thank You
