Oracle 11.1.0.7 on ODA 2.10

We purchased an ODA and I am wondering what prevents me from installing Oracle 11.1.0.7 db on the ODA_BASE VM?  I know the ODA officially only supports 11.2+ dbs.

We are looking at creating two VMs. One VM for the db which would house two databases. One db is a 11.2 (plain old db) and the other db is 11.1.0.7 (EBS db tier). The second user VM would house EBS 12.1.2 app tier.  Since it is 12.1.2 we would install Oracle Linux 5.9 and then clone the production env to the ODA.

I know the ODA patching does not support 11.1, but would the patching work on the ODA and just exclude the 11.1 db or would it complain and abort if it finds a non conforming db?  Same for the application VM.
