UDD in Batch?

Hi -

Is it possible to load a user-defined dimension in batch or can they only be added via the Hierarchy Maintenance workbook?  In the Hierarchy Maintenance workbook, you are updating the measure "r_ex_userdim" with the positions you want to create for a particular dimension.  However, the only instance of this measure I can find is in the workbook. 

We have an active item indicator where all items are either ACTIVE or INACTIVE.  We would like to loads these positions into a user-defined alternate branch so a user has the ability to choose only the active items to include in a workbook.  We would like to load this set of positions into the UDD in batch because they change frequently and we don't want the administrator to have to manage this online.
