how to change email address on MOSC account and not loose my Status Level and my points

I know this looks like a simple question with easy answer, but I tried it and it didn't work as expected.
Here is what I need to know:
I switched jobs and now I need to change the email address on my account in MOSC, which at the same time is my username/login with Oracle's My Oracle Support. I thought it will be simple. Just click in the upper right cornner, next to my username, drop-down box, select "Edit Profile and Privacy", click on the Edit button, change the email, save, and be done.
Unfortunately, when I did that, it changed my username, and I lost my Status Level, and all my points. It put me back to 0 points.
