G/L Class Codes - ItemBranch/Plant

We want to change the DMAAI G/L account some of our G/L Class Codes point too.  Would this be an issue?  Currently we have a G/L Class Code set up for some of our items in the Item Branch/Plant Information that we want to change to another GL account without having to set up new GL Class codes and we weren't sure if by changing the current DMAAI to an new GL account if this would be an issue.
