Material Object Genealogy

Our organization assembles products that consists of multiple items that are either lot- or serial-tracked.

I need a query to retrieve the multi-level lot-and serialized items that are used to assemble a speciafic final serial-number.

We use either the serial-number or the work-order-number as the parameter to retrieve the multilevel genealogy-structure.

Apparently I'm doing something wrong, or I'm not familiair enough with EBSs' datamodel, since my query keeps showing items that are either not in the final product or items that have been issued to the final assembly but also returned into stock before final completion.
