Discussion Record Statuses

in Agile (MOSC) Question

Hi all,

From what I can tell there's only two statuses associated with a Discussion record, Open and Closed.  There's no way that I can find to modify the list and there's no workflow or lifecycles associated with Discussions.  I couldn't find any documentation related to how these two statuses are supposed to be used on a Discussion, and frankly I'd like a lot more.  Does anyone have details about the Status field?
