ASCP Master Plan - Firm Planned orders with Alternate Routing

in Value Chain Planning - EBS (MOSC) Question

I am running an ASCP(12.1.3) Master Plan (EDD)  with Decision Rule Use Alternate BOM/Routing checked.  We also have Overwrite set to None.

When the plan runs, alternate routings are used for planned orders (i.e. I have planned orders for the primary routing and alternate routings).  However, when firming a planned order, a user cannot select an alternate routing - error FRM-40212: Invalid value for field ALTERNATE_BOM_DESIGNATOR.  is displayed.  Also, when we firm a planned order generated with an alternate, after re-running the plan, the firm order remains but reverts back to the primary routing.

Does anyone have any tips to solve this?
