Is there a way to apply miscellaneous expenditures against a project budget?

I understand the functionality of the module is to only track AP/PO transactions against a project budget, but is there a workaround that could help me with this issue. We have to charge some internal expenditures used for projects to that budget, and need the budgetary control with all projects associated costs.
