AIP Ranging information

in Retail Predictive Application Server (MOSC) Question

Hi,

I wanted to understand the warehouse ranging process in AIP.

We are seeing the items being ranged to warehouses just after the batch run.

Where does AIP get this ranging information from? How does AIP decide which all warehouses to range an item to?

Does it automatically range an item to all the warehouses mentioned in the profile?

Also,  if ranging takes place in AIP, how will RMS know which are the warehouses an item is ranged to? How do we bring in RMS and AIP in sync.

Also, the guide  specifically asks us to change the ranging status to exception ranged while configuring the supply chain information for a line. Why Should it be changed to exception ranged?
