Define Prompts Issue

The basic premise is that I want to list activities where the activity owner is John Smith, OR the Contact Owner is John Smith (the user is prompted for the names)

The report has the following grouped filter

Activity Owner is prompted 

OR Contact Owner is prompted

And I created two prompts..one prompts for "Activity Owner", the other prompts "Contact Owner"

However, by doing this the resulting query turns the filter into an "AND"...this shows on the report, and is not how I want it filtered....

Fiscal Year is equal to Current Year

and Owner is equal to John Smith
