Any way to "suggest" Solutions?

So we're investigating the possibilities for utilizing the Solution object in conjunction with Service Requests.  I was wondering if there was any way for a Solution to be "suggested" for a Service Request based on its Abstract or Extended Description.  Right now we're using an Activity to log our Solutions because it makes it easier to track them in reports.

I was also wondering if there was any way to search on the Solution's Problem Description field.
