Purchasing one item with multiple componenets

Hi

We need to be able to purchase one item via a PO, but upon receipt of that PO the subcomponents of that item need to be received.

Is there a way of doing this?

I've tried creating a BOM with components linked to it. I create a PO with that BOM, but up receipt only the BOM appears for receiving and not the components linked to it.

Please advise.
