use of EZCONNECT in sqlnet.ora when mentioning scan name in remote_listener

Hello ,

What's the use of EZCONNECT in sqlnet.ora when mentioning scan name in remote_listener

The database service were not registered with scan listener I checked and found that remote_listener parameter was not set when trying to set it erorr out so had to set EZCONNECT in sqlnet.ora

Pls advise.
