Extracting SMF configuration seems to fail

I was attempting to put into practice that part of "Applying Service Configuration" of the following OTN article

Advanced Administration with the Service Management Facility (SMF) on Oracle Solaris 11

I believe I'm also reasonably aware of svccfg(1M) and smf_security(5) but something isn't working as expected or I'm missing some point after all.

As root I'm unable to extract the application config property group values from the svc:/network/nis/domain, except by extracting everything.

# svccfg -s network/nis/domain

svc:/network/nis/domain> listcust

config/domainname                 hostname    admin           business.corp

config/ypservers                  host        admin           server-1d server-1c
