INTERFACE / API FOR PHYSICAL INVENTORY

We need an API for Physical Inventory as our process involves Excel right now.   I noted ER 3611131 for this but this funcitonality has not been delivered.

Anyone haev suggestions on how to best accomplish the entry of a physical count from worksheets with tag #'s into Oracle to improve efficiencies?

I've done dataloaders before where we:

handwritten count > Excel > Dataloader > Oracle

But it would be great to know of even better ways.  Excel seems to be optimal for keying as clerks are used to key punching from lists in this manner.
