Yet another "shutdown abort" question
Hello -
There are two admant perspectives at our shop -
1) "Shutdown abort / startup restrict / shutdown immediate" should always be used in the standard database shutdown scripts.
vs.
2) "shutdown abort" should never be used because there is a risk of corruption. (I am from this camp.)
I've done a lot of research online to get the current thinking.
From what I can determine, "shutdown abort" will not corrupt data, as long as the database is running 8.1.7 or higher.
What is the official truth?
Thank you!
