Business Unit security and NER business function

We have implemented business unit security and for some applications we overwrite this security by defining the exclusive security on the applications where we do not want the business unit security to work. It works for Reports and Applications but we have a business function which does not work. Is there any way to bypass business unit security while using a NER business function?
