Nightly Batch Compile - Interactivity

This may seem like an odd guestion, or so obvious that I should just know it, but I don't so I'm hoping someone here can help me understand.

When we create and compile a tools object on our local machine, we indicate three items for that object: Target Browser, Application and Interactivity.

Now we all use a batch compile when the objects get moved from our local development to a server somewhere in another environment.  So the guestion is.....how does that batch compile know which Target Browser or Interactivity to use for that object?

Howdy, Stranger!
