ESU application with backup option turn on

Hi, wondering when applying new ESU and with the backup option turn on...the backup set will be saved in \EXXX\planner\package/ESU#/pathcode.bak directory,,,what will the backup filename be ? 

If do a restore from the backup, it will restore those affected objects back to previous condition...then i need to do update uninstall...right ?

pls correct me if i am wrong...
