cluster_database_instances parameter use

Hello,

What if I don't set the cluster_database_instances parameter in rac database?What's impact of this parameter

Also pls share what's use of thread parameter like thread=0 and thread=1 I have seen rac databases running with thread=0 also set in both instances

but I saw one of the cases where while bringing up database it gave error that unable to mount public thread in that scenario when I set thread=1 then it started up file and also what's a public and private thread.
