Is compatibility mode required to use IE10 with R12.2.3?

Is compatibility mode required to use IE10 with R12.2.3?

We are upgrading from 11.5.10.2 to R12.2.3 and during our testing we have run into problems with IE10 and R12.2.3.  After logging in and selecting a forms option from the menu, the forms screen does not open and the java console does not launch.  Clicking on the forms option again will open the java console with an error message IllegalStateException: Applet's parent container not set up.

We have two mission critical applications that require IE compatibility mode to be turned off so we have a policy in place that forces IE to run with compatibility mode turned off so I am currently unable to test R12.2.3 with compatibility mode turned on. Microsoft does not provide the ability to run specific URL's with compatibility mode turned on and other URLs with compatibility mode turned off when the URL's are running within the same domain.
