Questions re upgrading OMS from 12.1.0.3 to 12.1.0.4

In preparation to upgrade my Enterprise Manager 12.1.0.3.0 installation to 12.1.0.4.0 I have been looking at the Enterprise Manager Cloud Control Upgrade Guide 12c Release 4 and also Oracle Support Note 1682332.1 and there are several points about which I am hoping I can get some clarification.


My configuration is a single OMS not configured for high availability with my OMS and Repository on individual VM servers. I will be performing a 1-System upgrade. My questions are taken from statements in table 4-1 found in chapter 4 of this document.


1) My repository is 11.2.0.3 and I am unclear about upgrading to 11.2.0.4. Can I do this after I upgrade the OMS or is it recommended to perform this upgrade prior to upgrading the OMS?  Chapter 2 of this upgrade guide illustrates a step in which the repository is upgraded as part of the upgrade but if I am understanding correctly only the sysman schema is being upgraded, not the 11.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.4 upgrade. Is my understanding correct?
