Solaris X86 Doesn't Unmount Automounted NFS Home Dirs

Recently I discovered that many of my Solaris 10 X86:

servers do not unmount automounted NFS home directories, even after the user has logged out and the timeout has passed.

Home directories stay mounted for months. And it causes problems when the user is removed from the system.

I have confirmed this behavior on three systems, all running the same OS and Platform.

Any ideas what's going on?
