Old versions of Project workplan are getting updated with new version

Hello All,

We have situation where the old versions details of workplan are getting updated with the new information of current version.

All the old versions are getting effected.such that the old information is sweeping.

Example: When we change the description or the task name in the current version.After updating the publish the same information is getting updated for old versions.

Is this the standard functionality or something is wrong here.

Please suggest.
