Which disk size configuration is the best?

We will replace storage with new storage device and the current disk group has 4TB that contains 40 disks (100GB/each).

Using bigger luns is better or small luns is better.

I suggues to use 8 disks that each has 500GB (or 10 of 400GB), but other suggest to keep the same disk numbers that mean still use 35 disks of 100GB each.

What is the best practices?
