Subinventory field in Shipping transaction form

Hi,

I was trying to add  subinventory field to a folder  in the Shipping transaction form and see the field is greyed out instead of being enabled like the Order Number field.

Is there any reason for this field to be greyed out.

Attaching shipping transaction screen for reference.

Any pointers on this will be really helpful.
