GI Install Complete, Wrong VIP Names Used

Hi, DBAs

We have an 11.2.0.4 cluster that was created using the wrong VIP names.  The VIP addresses are in DNS and /etc/hosts.  However, the names are different.  DNS has one set of names, and /etc/hosts has a different set of names.  When the OUI was run to install Grid Infrastructure, the DBA entered the VIP names from /etc/hosts in the Cluster Node Information section.  When I run command "srvctl config nodeapps" on any host in this cluster, there is no "VIP exists" detail returned.

Some questions:

What was OUI referencing when it started the VIPs?

What is the effect to GI if we change the VIP names in DNS?

Howdy, Stranger!
