WebCenter Space - Unable to get metadata for Space

When we try to browse spaces, we're getting an error Unable to get metadata for Space XYZ. I was wondering if anyone ran into similar issue or know how to mark these spaces as deleted directly in the back-end.I've a handful of spaces that I want to mark for deletion.

I want to do this because if I delete a space from the Administration and browse the spaces again, the error message does not include the deleted space name.
