ODA configurator error messages

i am installing ODA  I have read the docs and also followed the EIS steps.

when i try to run the configuration i put in all the values and when i select install on the last page i get error message /opt/oracle/oak/pkgrepos/orapkgs/11.2.0.3.6/Base//grid112.tar. for GI and DB install

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN??

I am currently at 2.6.0.0 do I download and apply patch bundle 16744915_26000 this patch bundle is from may 13 ( I would assume it is already installed )

or do I try to install patch p12978712_210000_Linux-x86-64.zip and take the ODA to 2.10 latest, can I go from 2.6 to 2.10??
