Accrual Reconciliation Load Run - Date Parameters

Hello; R12.1.2 here.

I'm trying to understand the impact of the From / To data parameters input on this job.  My notes from my implementer, 3 years ago, say to run it with a null From date, and the desired To date (being the last day of the period we just closed).

The job currently takes 4 - 5 hours when run this way.  I believe I've read on MOS, that all the previously-collected data (from the prior time this was run) is being deleted from the staging tables, and then repopulated... going back to "day 1" for us.

Is there a more effective way to run it?  We currently run it the same day we finally close AP & Inventory modules each month.  (ie, we just closed July today - so ran it "Null" to "7/31/14")
