Sql response time is difference between Window7 client and Unix like client

I have a question. When I execute the same sql in the same machine (client) , but there are quite unaccepted different responsed time between Window7 client and Unix like client. My oracle database version Oracle9208, HP-UX B.11.31 U ia64. Why? How can tune it?
