Packing and Consolidation after Bulk Pick in Staging Location

edited Nov 7, 2014 6:58PM in Inventory Management - EBS (MOSC) 8 commentsAnswered

Hi All,

The requirement is to have an ability to BULK pick items (typically less than 5 items per sales order) and to drop them in packing area.

Once staged, for certain sales orders master packing is need  to support UCC128/EDI requirements. For others the staged items directly get processed as a parcel through FedEx/UPS terminal.

BULK picking requires consolidation and deconsolidation while picking and dropping which is dfiicult to track for orders. Typical bulk pick has 8-10 orders with 2-3 items on each other with few items being shared.

Cartonization is not preferred becasuse it is dfficult to manage master packs (multiple cartons) while picking and secondly not all picked items need to be master packed.

Howdy, Stranger!
