Loading of Assets from Legacy

Hi Guru's,

                I need to load all Assets from Legacy to Oracle R12 (12.0.6). As the Client is using current assets since  a long time. Now while adding assets from Legacy, Can i Keep the Original value of the Asset, I.e its start up value & keep the Date place in service as the date when it started from the beginning, So that Depreciation gets calculated from the beginning of its period & till date in Oracle R12.

              Please advise
