MICR Fonts not displaying

We are in the process of converting to JDE 9.1 and are using MS Word 2010 and BI Publisher 11.1.16 to create a template that uses MICR fonts.  We are currently encountering two seperate issues.

The first issues is that we have the MICR fonts defined in our template and when we go view them in RTF format, they appear just fine, but when we go to PDF view, the regular characters just appear.  We've created the xdo.cfg file and have created the MICR font family and placed the ttf into the windows directory but still no luck in getting it to display correctly in PDF.
