Unable to create Service Request for item instance owned by customer

Hi All,

I am unable to create a service request for an item instance which is owned by customer and status is 'Not Installed'.

when serial number is given in SR form getting error - FRM-40212 : Invalid value for field current_serial_number.

Any help to fix this issue is appreciated.
